Joshwa is an award winning social entrepreneur with over 7 years of experience in business development, business coaching, immersive leadership development and fundraising. He mentors and supports SME’s to develop market penetration strategies, fundraising plan and product development using design thinking Model. Joshwa is a 2018 Acumen fellow, 2017 Mandela, Washington fellow - business and entrepreneurship track.

Joshwa is a special advisor to the Kibera Community Empowerment Organization (KCEO), which he founded in 2011. The organization has so far impacted 71, 214 lives through street literacy, social entrepreneurship and food security programs. In 2017, he co-founded Kshoes, a social enterprise that partners with skilled artisans age 16 to 30 years, producing recycled customized shoes sold both in Kenya and international market, creating 12 jobs to skilled artisans, 117 youths in garbage collection. The generated revenues are reinvested in empowering women.

So far 200 women living with disability have been trained on leadership development, social entrepreneurship and digital marketing; receiving seed capital and mentorship, out of which 71 started their businesses, serving 17000 lives annually. The supported businesses address food security, education, environment, technology and human rights.

Joshwa’s previous professional experience includes project officer for both National Organization of Peer Educators and Center for Disease Control. He has published “Understanding Kibera Slum”. He has a BSc in computer science, BA in community development and currently an Economics student at Daystar University.
