KCEO is an independent community based organisation, committed to empowering communities within the slum to take active responsibility for their lives to shape the future of their destiny. This is achieved through capacity building, resource mobilisation, advocacy and lobbying for change in all aspects of human life: social, economic, spiritual, political and physical. KCEO provides access to education, training to local artisans and peer education leading to poverty reduction,financial freedom, skills dissemination and social justice.

KCEO has impacted 71,214 lives and counting through street literacy, social entrepreneurship and food security programs. In order to sustain KCEO activities, Joshwa together with his friends co-founded Kshoes – a social enterprise that partners with skilled artisans from the informal settlements in Nairobi to produce customized footwear, targeting local and international markets.
